Renaissance Clubsport Opens Aliso Viejo Hotel & Fitness Resort At Summit Office Campus


ALISO VIEJO, CALIF. (July 15, 2008) – Renaissance Hotels & Resorts has just opened the doors of Renaissance ClubSport Aliso Viejo Hotel & Fitness Resort located within Summit Office Campus, a Class A, 1.7 million-square-foot, mixed-use business campus in Aliso Viejo, Calif.  This announcement also marks the first full-service hotel in Aliso Viejo.

This unique boutique-style hotel and sports and fitness resort offers 174 guestrooms, including five suites, a 75,000-square-foot world-class fitness facility, 5,500 square feet of flexible meeting space and a restaurant and lounge. The property is managed by Marriott for Leisure Sports Inc. and R.D. Olsen in Aliso Viejo, California. Renaissance ClubSport is a world-class hotel and sports and fitness resort concept that appeals to both business and leisure travelers. The fitness club features a 12,000-square-foot fitness area as well as an outdoor aquatic area with two swimming pools plus a splash ‘n play area for kids, a whirlpool and garden patio area for dining or special events.

“Renaissance ClubSport is the vital mixed-use component to Summit Office Campus,” said Lee Redmond, CEO of Parker Properties, the developer of Summit.  “From the inception of Summit over a decade ago, we always envisioned some key amenities such as a fitness center and hotel.  We are pleased that our project, which was built to create a tenant-oriented work environment, has attracted such a complimentary, high-quality brand that benefits both our project and corporate tenants, as well as the local business and residential community.”

Redmond added that just previous to the Renaissance ClubSport completion, Parker Properties and RREEF, the common financial partner for the entire Summit project, completed two, four-story office buildings totaling 260,000 square feet of space which are currently in the leasing stage.  One of the buildings will include an upscale restaurant.  This newly finished phase is now going through the LEED certification process, targeting a silver rating and is arguably Summit’s most aesthetically pleasing and functional space to date, offering a large inviting outdoor courtyard that includes three water features including a 40-foot high water wall, as well as a series of smaller outdoor areas that facilitate gathering spots.  Some of the green features include: recycled water that irrigates project landscaping, waterless urinals, HVAC and refrigerant equipment with fewer harmful compounds to decrease ozone layer depletion, carbon dioxide monitoring systems, indoor air quality management plan, and green housekeeping and site maintenance programs.
